Ignio

Our methodology

Built from practice, refined by practice

Where it came from

Ignio didn't start as a theoretical model. It started with three founders spending four years working directly with migrant entrepreneurs in London, running programme sessions, mentoring, and watching the same behavioural patterns show up again and again — confidence under uncertainty, resilience through setbacks, hesitation to lead without a formal title. The assessment was built to name and measure those patterns properly.

What the model is built from

The capability model comes from real programme delivery — 270+ entrepreneurs across two full programme cycles — not from an academic framework imported from elsewhere. Every capability and question traces back to something the team observed repeatedly on the ground.

How the assessment works, structurally

Ignio evaluates behavioural patterns and capabilities entirely through self-report. There is no third-party observation — nobody watches you work or verifies your answers. It combines three sources: direct questions about your own capabilities, situational scenarios that ask how you'd judge a specific situation, and short recall of your recent behaviour over the last weeks or months.

Still evolving

The model is expected to keep changing as more people go through it. It isn't presented as a finished or fully validated instrument — it's refined as we learn from how real answers behave.

Current limitations — stated plainly

  • This is a self-assessment tool. It reflects how people describe their own patterns, not an independently verified behavioural audit.
  • It hasn't gone through formal academic or clinical validation. It's built from field experience, not peer-reviewed research.
  • It captures a single point in time. One completed profile is a snapshot of how you answered that day, not a permanent measurement — retaking it over time gives a more reliable picture than one result on its own.
